Caden finishes off the school year with a bang!

Caden loved 4th grade so much! He had a great year. Just before school ended, the Wellington 4th grade held their Living Museum. Caden was rancher Charles Goodnight, which made for a pretty simple costume. Really, just his Sunday suit plus suspenders. You can tell he really loved the suspenders!

I got to attend during the day because our evening (when the parent performance took place) was quadruple-booked.

Caden's friend Cameron.

Caden's friend Noah (wearing a wig, I assure you).

Reciting his speech to the 2nd-graders.

This is so fun!
Caden's last day of 4th grade was much fun! The theme was "Party like a Rock Star" and you can be sure he did. He started out the day with more of a costume--including my leather jacket. But when it was time to dance, dance he did, and the jacket had to go. Caden's love of dancing--not to mention his dancing skills--makes it three for three with our boys. I am sure they got their sense of rhythm from their dad!

Just half of the 4th grade!

After the big group party, we went back to the classroom for just a class party.

This is the first year Caden didn't want school to end for the summer because he loved his class so much. The irony is that this was the year he didn't think he had any friends in his class. That clearly changed along the way! He was excited at the end of the year to discover he had been elected to the student council for the next school year. That helped him to look forward to 5th grade and be more willing to say good-bye to 4th.
After school on the last day, we met a bunch of Caden's friends at the Wellington pool to celebrate! This was the first year that the main Wellington last-day-of-school pool party didn't happen, nor did the ward lake party (due to high water). We were glad we had alternate plans anyway!
