Gavin had an assignment in one of his classes to create a short film in a specific category. Gavin and his group chose to create a documentary on "The Injustice of Child Labor." Gavin was the main actor in the film, and was featured weeding out in a field and struggling to keep up in school due to the migrant farm work he was forced to do. The top films for the school were submitted to the school district, and Gavin's group won 2nd place for the district in the Documentary category. The district had an awards ceremony, during which we got to watch snippets of all the films up for an award.

We were also delighted when Gavin received not only an award for perfect attendance and maintaining an A-average, but also the "Ideal McKamy Graduate" award from his US History teacher, Ms. Furnas.
Good-bye McKamy! Hello FMHS 9th Grade Campus!!
