Tristan Earns a Character Counts Award, Sings in His Last FMHS Choir Concert, and Graduates from Seminary!

We are still catching up to May, as the end of the school year continued like a whirlwind. Tristan earned a Character Counts award for the way that he reached out and included a disabled young man at Prom. This young man had gone to Prom, in his wheelchair, with a teacher. Tristan got him out in the middle of a big group and danced with him, and as the teacher said, "Made his night!" It didn't surprise me at all--it sounded exactly like something Tristan would do: reach out and help someone feel not just included, but important. I was a proud mama!

We will so miss attending Tristan's choir concerts, especially those held at the Lamb of God Church. The acoustics are amazing, and what's more, Tristan's choir directors never shy away from singing very spiritual music--often in other languages, including Latin. This choir is absolutely incredible and we will miss Tristan being a part of it!

Oh, wait. This IS normal for us. 

I had to really blow the below picture up in order to clearly show all these beautiful faces. After the concert, Tristan headed to a graduation party for Emily (he attended a slew of parties for three weeks up until graduation, but I just happened to be at this one too). This picture includes many of his dearest friends (not to mention my beloved Laurels). I got weepy as I took it, knowing they would all soon be heading their separate ways (with all four young men already having their mission calls!). Tristan's great friends have brought him--and us--so much joy. What a blessing.
